Hilldrup

Don’t use this service. Their workers illegally dumped dozens of their boxes in a DC alley. Not great advertising. 12/13/24 Update: To clarify, the alley cameras clearly showed uniformed Hilldrup workers dumping the boxes. We called Hilldrup and no one ever called back. After a 311 request, DC city workers cleaned up Hilldrup's mess.

Professional, dependable, excellent service are a few of the words that come to mind. For our cross-country move this team was phenomenal. Our journey began with an estimate over video. They were responsive via phone and email and provided a central coordinator that managed our full move including the shipping of our vehicles. This was a critical element in making this a pleasant experiment. From the day of the packing, to the move date, to delivery, they showed up on time and notified us prior. With our one of a kind items such as our art, they carefully enclosed them in individually packed boxes. Upon arrival our inventory was exact, and the driver “team lead” went above and beyond to ensure our home was set up well prior to departing. They also returned and picked up the unpacked boxes

Hilldrup delivered my furniture and items from storage. I was contacted in advance to confirm my address and other details for the delivery and was informed in advance of their arrival time. Angel's crew arrived on time and they were very organized. Merary, who directed the operation, was amazingly on top of things and everyone was careful not to damage any of the walls while moving. Angel, the crew leader, checked in with me several times to make sure I didn't have any questions or concerns. The entire team was top-notch. One of the smoothest deliveries I have experienced.

Worst movers. Do not waste your money on them. I’ve moved 6x and never had a problem until I used this company who was “highly” recommend by a family friend. They lost parts to my high value pieces that I can’t resell unless they are fixed in the exact same way. I’ve had no dining table for two weeks now. Have made little to no effort to fix anything even two weeks since my move. I have multiple pieces that are missing parts, like a circle light that is missing the circle part, so I have to now go out and buy again. The packers for example should have wrapped my sound bar with its cords but instead only wrapped my sound bar and I have no idea where the cords are so now have to buy more. Somehow they broke the base of one of my lamps that is valuable. And when I suggested to their delivery

I would never use Hilldrup again. They came recommended to us by family (who have also since had a negative experience). Issues started from the beginning when they did not send enough packers to complete our pre-move packing. The individual was nice but there was too much work for her to complete in the allotted time. We were unable to get ahold of our move coordinator to resolve that day, and had to call the central dispatch line. The move out process was the best of the components, folks were nice, prompt and courteous. All of this pales in comparison to our move in. Our movers were late, rude and careless with our items. They claimed to not be able to fit the truck down the street, blamed our move coordinator who in turned blamed them. A 2hr move process that was supposed to start at
