My initial experience with Mr. Hoffman was very positive. He charged exactly what he quoted over the phone - $105/hr for the service call plus the cost of parts - and replaced my AC capacitor for a reasonable $30. Based on that, I didn’t hesitate to call him again years later when I experienced the same issue. Unfortunately, this second visit was disappointing. Despite confirming it was the exact same issue and replacing the exact same part, he charged the part at $195 - nearly 10 times the cost of a capacitor available at local hardware stores ($10–$30 at Lowe’s or Home Depot). When I questioned the markup, Mr. Hoffman became noticeably agitated. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and unsafe, so I paid the inflated price so he would quickly leave my home. Super good dude. Extremely honest. He came out, had a look at my coils and said there was a 'cat' in there! The air wasn't exchanging because the coils were gross and FULL of hair. He made sure the freon wasn't leaking too. He didn't charge me and he told me to use him when we needed to replace our dinosaur system. I *absolutely* will! He could have lied to me, I was ready to shell out money for a new one but he kept the old beast going for a bit which saved me lots of money. Thank you SO MUCH!

Had my a/c serviced by Hoffman about two weeks ago. The price was more than reasonable. I called at 8:00am and he was able to respond the same day. He knew what the exact issue was with the compressor and fixed it. He even took the extra time in the 100 degree heat to make sure it was running smoothly. Two weeks later and still running great. Not only was the price and response time great, the invaluable part was his thorough inspection and honest advice. Mr. Hoffman goes above and beyond any a/c repair I've ever experienced.

Don't hesitate to call Hoffman Heating and Air if you have A/C problems. Garrett's fees are on par with or cheaper than the big A/C companies. He is very honest and trustworthy. I was afraid of getting ripped off and didn't know who to call. I read the reviews and decided to call Garrett. He offered to come within a few hours after my call on Friday evening. I told him it was not that much of an emergency, so he came the next morning (New Year's Eve). He diagnosed the problem and provided 3 options to get my 12 year old system cooling again. Did he recommend the most expensive option to upgrade the entire old system? No. He did not even recommend spending $200 for a new part. He simply made an adjustment, was done in about an hour, and accepted his service call fee as full payment

Will recommend to everyone. Owner came out for a night call as my AC was blowing hot air. Within 20 minutes he had the problem fixed and my house was cooling. My pregnant wife and 3 kids couldn't have been more thankful. Those Florida summer nights can get hot. I was impressed with his professionalism and was a really nice guy to talk too.
