Our beloved 40-year-old masonry fireplace had developed some upsetting symptoms. Soot coming out at the ceiling (see before and after photos). Cracks between the logs walls and the stone. Cracks between stones. No idea why. We were skeert. We had already contacted three other fireplace companies. One ghosted us. Two tried to sell us expensive inserts that were basically just bandaids. And that was only over the phone. None of them were willing to come out in person to troubleshoot. The folks from Hollis, however, not only made the effort to visit our relatively remote location but they were able to accurately diagnose the causes.
