Ivan Horning and his son Chris did a fabulous job designing, building and installing high quality custom cabinets for our new kitchen in our very old country cottage. Ivan was flexible and patient with us as we explored design options and considered his many valuable suggestions, including slide out pantry cabinet shelving, smart corner cabinet rollout shelves, spice and cutting board cabinets and more. Our "vintage" cottage is less than perfectly plumb and square and Ivan and Chris designed and installed the cabinets in clever ways to accommodate the realities of our space. Chis was masterful in crafting our island countertop from several rough-cut maple slabs that we provided from a tree removed from our property a couple years ago. Ivan crafts custom cabinets from the best hardwood doors and frames on high grade plywood boxes. He does detailed CAD design too, with ready changes (and there were a few). We found his costs to be less than big box stores. He has the best equipment as evidenced by impeccable dovetails on all drawers. Hardware too is the best I’ve seen. His son Chris and nephew Tim built and installed them perfectly level, ready for heavy countertops. Appliances were a tight fit as expected. Work was done in a small space of our 1821 row house. Wilmer Kaufman was our recommended carpenter, Dan Maher electrician, Dan Pollino plumber.

Ivan is a true craftsman and easy to work with. He built our cupboards and cabinets with precision. We were also very pleased with the impeccable painted finished products. I highly recommend him!
