Overall had a great experience with Houston Stair Co. Contracted with them for tread install, railings, and glass on a renovation where stairs were completely rebuilt. I would have saved money by contracting the treads separately with a carpenter (and appreciated Houston Stair Co was also clear on that during the estimation process). But given it was already a complicated renovation, I wanted to minimize coordination / execution risk between multiple contractors. So opted for turnkey installation. Quality of materials they used is fantastic. Joseph great to work with in particular and did site visits, ensured work was done correctly, and addressed any concerns. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or work with them again.

Hi everyone !!!! January 16 2026 I just want to share again that this company is the worse I ever deal with. Is need a whole year dealing with the owner and nothing happen. He said he will refund me last year and nothing happen!!! He Dias that it will take a week to refund me my money and is been 2 months now and nothing happen. I have proof of all this and my goal is just to prevent this to happen to other clients. I just need my money back and that’s it !!!!! First comment Be careful with this company. I have super super bad experience with the owner Thadd. He change staff every month. I have my project for 1 year and it’s not done. He try to change quotes and said it expires then previous one. I was looking for a modern stair railing for my new construction last yr when my research and my neighbor's recommendation both led me to Houston Stair Company. The sales, design and installation teams answered all my questions, worked with my schedule, and was always polite and courteous. The install completed promptly and without any issues and we were so happy with the beautiful final product! Everyone who comes into our home loves our glass and stainless steel railing as it is such a gorgeous statement piece. Not only is this co. amazing with what they have done, they have also helped me install back 1 post and railing we had to remove due to the flood during Hurricane Harvey. The end product may have turned out OK, but these people were terrible to work with. After signing my contract I was informed that they would not remove my existing stair rails. I questioned them about this, and was told “if you would have ask about this, we would have told you”. They also refused to put down plastic tarp over my new carpet because “this is not within the scope of your contract”. They messed up the pattern and offered no apology for failing to check their own inventory or the delays caused thereafter. No scheduling for install, instead they just text you the morning of (if you don’t respond, you can just “re-schedule”). Finally, over two months after paying my deposit and tons of frustration I got my new stairwells. But they left out a piece because I could not get
