My garage door stopped working, and since I was really busy, I decided to hire someone to handle it instead of doing it myself. They sent a technician (I think his name was Ben), who informed me that the spring was broken and estimated the cost at $1785. I was in a long meeting and didn’t even consider the price at the time, so I agreed. After the meeting, I decided to look up actual prices, and I was shocked. He installed the spring for over $700, while it only costs $89 at Home Depot. Other parts, which are typically $20-$30 at Home Depot, were sold to me for $150 each. The labor cost was $150. Very very over priced. $20 part was sold for $285. I think they forward to other garage door contractors that do not work for idoors directly or they are using many dbas. After the fix, the door did work correctly, and a warrenty of 3 years was offered.
