We have been working with Mike for about 8 years now and have done about 20 houses over the course of that time. All material and trades such as electricians and plumbers are always on job on time and get done in a timely fashion and we have never had any problems. Mike and his team built a screened porch attached to our house, and a doghouse to replace the warped bulkhead cover. They also relocated and placed a new set of stairs into our basement, since the old set was at a steep, unsafe angle. The work is all of high quality and looks fabulous! Mike was great to work with and responded to us quickly when we had questions. We highly recommend Island Carpentry!
We hired Mike White (DBA Island Carpentry) to build an addition on our house. It was an awful experience. As background, we were out of state for much of the time the construction was occurring. When we were on site we caught some mistakes as they were being made and managed to change the work. Most of the problems occurred while we were not there. I will only mention the most serious problems, 1. Although we told him several times and pointed out the general location of the sewer pipe, the foundation crew destroyed the pipe. When we tried to use the plumbing waste water backed up into the basement. I immediately informed Mike, telling him I thought the sewer pipe had been compromised. His plumber checked the drain and declared we had blocked it with "paper towels." The backup continued. H
