James River Grounds Management

Don’t waste your time with these guys. In their contract they’re supposed to weed the flower beds once a week, which throughout the entire season they haven’t done even once, they’re supposed to come once a week, which they rarely do - last time was 3 weeks ago. This is their “done” job. There is not one blade of grass cut, yet the guy tried to tell me “it’s high because it’s been 2 weeks”. Not one blade of grass is cut here at all. Worthless and will lie right to your face. Yes, that’s their truck in the background, yes I have already spoken to them, yes they are packing up, still without mowing anything.

I was the property manager of a large townhome community in northern Virginia before moving to Charlottesville. I have not been impressed with any of the companies in the Charlottesville area. JRGM does our community and is OK. They skip steps (do not weed or till beds before throwing down mulch), are unable to adjust their schedule (one rainy day pushes mowing another entire week), and leaf pickup techniques are outdated and inefficient. Their turf management program is based upon their schedule and not the season's. They started the season with lawnmower blades that were not sharp. I have used companies with the same cost and better outcomes. JRGM is an average landscape company and does not possess the knowledge of landscape science and operational management of top-performing landscape

This company provides landscaping at my apartment complex. I have complained numerous times about their poor work ethics. The lawn outside my apartment is frequently overlooked or half done. Hoping they find a new company soon because these landscapers have no pride in their work.

JR has been management our community for a few years. The quality of their work in all areas is abysmal. Management does not respond to phone calls or emails timely. The work completed in our community is subpar.

I have found JRGM to be unreliable over the last 3 seasons. The quality of their work has gone downhill this year. Unfortunately I have to live with their lack of customer focus as the Pavilions on Pantops continues to use them in spite of numerous complaints.
