Joe Hardwood Floors

We recently moved into a home with pinewood floors that had been torn up by the previous owner's two large dogs. Before we moved in we decided to have them refinished. We ended up choosing Joe Hardwood floors because of their competitive pricing and good reviews. They scheduled us quickly and set to work. They were fast, prompt and did a good job. We paid more for the water based top coat because we were told it was superior, cured more quickly and didn't emit a smell. When the floors were completed we waited the recommended amount of time to move into the home. We used only cleaning products they recommended to clean the floors. We had high hopes for our flooring project with Joe's Hardwood Flooring, but unfortunately, our experience over the past five months has been deeply disappointing. First, the quote failed to account for baseboards, which are an integral part of any flooring job. After the project began, we were told we could either pay extra to remove and reinstall the baseboards or accept losing up to an inch of the original height. Why a professional would consider leaving the job unfinished in this way—especially for a 4,000 sq. ft. project—is beyond us. Another major issue was the exterior doors. They were raised during installation, leaving significant gaps between the doors and the floor. Joe and his team were great to work with. We had some issues with the previous floor and finish and we had a short timeframe to work with to refinish 2/3 of our house. They were able to get the job done and were very professional and specific with the estimate and work time line. I would not hesitate to call them again for any hardwood needs, the communication was consistent and they are to be trusted to get the job done right.
