February 8, 2026. As a loyal customer for the past eight years who has always paid on time, I expected reliability and basic customer care in return. Instead, this has been one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had with a company. I am enrolled in auto-pay, which means my oil should be delivered on a regular schedule. Despite this, on Friday 2/6/26 it was discovered that my oil had completely run out, leaving my home with no heat. I contacted the company immediately. I was told a delivery of oil will occur and it’s now Sunday 2/8/26 7:49AM and still no oil has been delivered, despite repeated calls since Friday. I called customer service Sunday morning at 8:24AM. I am a 69-year-old disabled person. I've been with john Ray and sons for a couple of years and found them to be quite good. However, most recently they sent a tech to my house because my furnace was not working. They have been to my house a couple of times this year, however, I did have a service contract. The technician came to my house went to my furnace, came back to me and told me he could not work on my furnace because his boss had told him he could not longer work on my furnace. It was too old and I needed replaced. This was the first time they mentioned this. When I said to the technician and the service manager that you're gonna leave a 69-year-old person who is disabled in a unheated house because he refused to fix the furnace, although it can be fixed. Only one star rating b/c I couldn’t give zero. This company is HORRIBLE. Became a new customer during the extreme cold -20° temps beginning of Feb 2026. We have an outside oil tank. We were told we couldn’t get kerosene but the additive would take care of the oil gelling or freezing… so we ordered, paid for the delivery, and it froze. Five service calls and a week later, we owed $740 in service calls and still did not have heat! First service call, tech “purged” the line to correct no heat, when it’s a double-line system that never needs to be purged. Second service call, frozen fuel, $600 to thaw the fuel line when it wasn’t supposed to freeze. Third service call for no heat, tech installed “jumper wires” to override the thermostat- and the inside temperature of the house went up to over

Excellent service. Kathleen Tabb was exceptional! She explained how the contract works, followed up with any questions I had. Previously, I used C.O.D. service with this company. All of the sales people are pleasant and efficient.
