Joseph Rivers Painting

We purchased an older home in October 2025. We asked Joseph Rivers Painting to paint every room in this house. They cleaned all areas and painted every room beautifully. Every thing we asked for was done and areas we hadn’t considered were painted and improved. They completed all of this in about 7 days. We were very impressed with their work ethic. We highly recommend this company.

Highly recommend!! They did the entirety of the inside of my house. This included tons of patch work on the walls; for some unknown reason, there were outlets in every room right below the ceiling, when they were done, you could not tell they were ever there. I had ancient wallpaper to deal with, old time plaster swirly texture spot removal on the ceilings where they matched the texture perfectly. They did every door, caulked every window, painted every wall, door, vanity, mirror and the kitchen cabinets. I have always painted my own house, and would even finish off the edges with a small fine brush, so to say I am a meticulous person would be an understatement. Joe Rivers’ crew just finished painting our home and we couldn’t be happier. The house is on the historic register, and they understood the importance of careful prep, detail, and working with an old house. They are also lead-certified, since this is an older home (1835 & 1850). A couple years ago we were at a loss as to whom to hire to do the exterior painting, then I noticed they were painting a neighbor’s house around the corner, and soon after that, good friends in Cortland also recommended Joe. On top of that, the house has needed some other repairs for a while--missing siding and other issues. We tried twice to hire contractors, and both times they went incommunicado. What a fabulous job John and his crew did on our house!!! We have some ridiculously tough spots to paint and the team did a superlative job in record time. John’s crew took their time and a ton of dedication to get our entire basement put back together again. We had a massive flood where all our finished basement walls had to be cut up two feet. 3 bedrooms a laundry room and a living area, these group of men came in with every detail and finished our basement to our absolute dream! My children have their rooms back and we have our house back. They didn’t rush and made sure things were done right! I couldn’t ask for a better crew! Thank you John and crew!
