With guests arriving from out of town just a few days later, I called Kingstown Carpet & Rug on Friday, hoping they might be able to help. I spoke with Steve, the owner, who could not have been kinder or more understanding. He offered his condolences and assured me he would do everything possible to have the carpet cleaned and returned by Tuesday. Kingstown Carpets is a place I would definitely recommend and trust for cleaning and tassel repair of Persian carpets. I hesitated for years getting my small Persian carpet cleaned and repaired because it is an irreplaceable family heirloom and I needed a place I could trust not to damage it. I was so fortunate to find Kingstown. Their staff do fabulous repairs and cleanings! Plus, they charge a very affordable price. Not only is my carpet cleaner, but they have extended its life through repairs so it will last for many years to come!

Steve was very responsive from the start and his team completed the job within the agreed-upon timeframe. The price was also very reasonable for the quality of work. Our rug looks fantastic, and we'll definitely be using their services again in the future.

I contacted them about cleaning a handmade Turkish rug that during Covid isolation suffered several visible food spills. They picked up the rug that day and returned it 2 days later. While they were here, I asked about a machine made Couristan carpet that was bunching up to one side. I had consulted three rug services a couple years ago about the problem. One said it required special equipment to re-block, one said it required laying carpet tape which they were happy to do for $45/linear foot, and one said the back had been glued on to the carpet and once it starts to bunch up, nothing could be done. I've been using the services of Kingstowne Carpet and Rug Cleaning for many years -- It must be a decade or more at this point. The owner, Steve, is extremely responsive and personable and very fair in terms of pricing. Just today I purchased two high-quality rug pads from him. He cut them to fit, delivered them, laid them down, made one small adjustment, and got the rugs all lined up. He offered these rug pads at a great price and they are expected to last 10 years. I love supporting local businesses and Steve is the epitome of a hard-working local business owner.
