LAKES REGION MASONRY LLC

Job was a lakefront retaining wall. I was told it would be a two week job. He started in July and worked about 2 or 3 hours most days. In september it was not even halfway done. He took a month off for personal reasons. then came to me for more money even though I had paid him 50% per our contract. I felt bad and gave him additional money, but it is now December and the job is not finished. There is a mess left in my yard and I don’t think the job will ever be finished by this person. there have been hundreds of text messages sent, and a lot of it was inappropriate personal information. He Also sent pictures of other jobs that were being done after I paid him and my job was not done

Bill was hired for a simple interior and exterior chimney job. Work days were 2-3 days a week at best from 10am to 2pm. Quality of work suffered throughout the job until major personal issues with Bill came to surface leading me to terminate our contract promptly because of poor workmanship and major safety issues. $4,500 down the toilet. ALL work has to be redone - stones literally falling off the walls. Hire someone else if you want quality work.

I hired Lakes Region Masonry to repair a leak around my chimney. I expected sealant around the base of the chimney and new flashing. If I had known I would get black tape with writing all over it on a gray roof and cement slathered around the old flashing, I would have looked for someone else to do the work. I paid in full at the time of service. After reflection, I called to say that I was not happy with the work. I subsequently requested a partial refund for the work not done, to no avail.

Bill helped us out with a quick inspection and quote for a busted corner of the brick atop our stone foundation. He quoted us less than we expected (and much less than we feared), and he got the work done quickly. Our basement is finally solid, and Bill & team did a great job getting us there. I would absolutely recommend Lakes Region Masonry to anyone looking for some quick, quality masonry work.

Edit - I previously posted a negative review of Lakes Region Masonry, and I’m happy to say that I’m taking it back. I had serious concerns about the quality of work and lack of communication. Come to find out, Bill was having to juggle a couple of emergencies, so everything got halted. He eventually had time to come to my house and we had a really good discussion about the concerns, and made a communication plan for going forward. Since then, there hasn’t been a single issue. He and a colleague just left after fixing the repoint, and it looks GOOD. It’s sleek, well sculpted (for lack of a better term), and it’s what I imagined the repoint to be. I’m pleased with Bill’s willingness to talk through issues and to fix unsatisfactory work. Because of this, I have to give five stars. Not too man
