I have held off on writing a review for a few years because I wanted to allow enough seasons to pass for my “hedge” to become established before giving a fair review. I just wanted a simple green hedge along my fence. I have battled since the day of installation, to no avail, to help these podacarpus thrive. Was there a soil test so that the soils could be amended? Was there a water drainage test? Should these podacarpus be planted in all day sun? My conclusion is no. At $250 each I feel duped. Constant research and attention to these plants and I still don’t have a hedge along my fence. I can see the writing on the wall that they will all ultimately be replaced by more suitable shrubs that are also much cheaper. I would not consider these guys professional landscape installers. Wonderful place! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help in anyway!! Definitely recommend!! I went there looking for something to put in my pots and the gal helping me asked me different questions then went and showed me her recommendations! I liked them so she helped me load them up and told me exactly how to plant them and got the supplies to do it!!!

While Holly was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, my overall experience with this business was disappointing. I was initially told that the $75 delivery fee applied per trip, so I placed an order for compost with the intent to call back and add either mulch or stone. However, when I called the next day, a different woman who answered was immediately unfriendly and contradicted what I was told, stating that mulch and compost couldn’t be delivered together and I’d have to pay the $75 again. She didn’t attempt to offer a solution and never followed up after saying she would check with “RJ.” To make matters worse, when the compost arrived, I found multiple cigarette butts in what was supposed to be “food safe” material for my garden. Needless to say, I would not recommend.

We have a very difficult yard and were at a complete loss of what to do with a sloping ditch (in our front yard underneath a beautiful oak) that flows into a creek. To say the least, we were beyond overwhelmed and terrified to make the wrong move for addressing it. The owners at Lawngevity helped us explore a few options over the course of a year. Their knowledge and guidance helped us find an affordable and simply stated, gorgeous path forward. They were so kind and patient throughout the entire process. I have purchased several yards of mulch at several different places. By far this is one of the best yards I have gotten. They are located right off highway 17 in Hampstead, this will be my go to landscape dealer. Very friendly staff.
