Legislative Office Building Public Parking Garage

This is where to park for tours or other visits to the Legislative Building or Capitol. It's marked "Visitor Parking for Legislative Visitors Only" which made us think it might be only for those with appointments or official business, but it's also for tourists like us. There is an enclosed walkway on the 2nd level to the Legislative Building where tours begin or you can walk there outdoors on ground level when the weather is nice. We had no trouble finding a spot when we went.

The Legislative Office Building offers a large indoor parking structure which is wonderful no matter what type of weather or what time of year. The visually stunning interior of this building is a testament the government in the United States. This building is open to the public and has enough space to hold several public hearings at once. I have visited this building several times for both hearings and classes, it is definitely something to see if you're interested in historic sites.

Beautiful! Very informative. We had a great, fun tour guide! There is free visitor parking by the legislative building. If you are here for a tour of the Capitol Building, park here. The tour starts there at the information center.

The main area is pretty cool but the basement is where all of the historic Connecticut memorabilia and artifacts are. The catacomb-like underbelly of the LOB could easily be field trip material, but probably not on its own. It's near other historic things though so make a day of visiting it all.
