As new homeowners, we wanted to have our chimney/propane fireplaces inspected and cleaned for safety before turning on our fireplaces for the season. Katherine and Carlos came on time to our appointment. However, the inspection was a visual inspection from the ground. Nobody got on top of the roof to inspect the chimney or look inside the chimney. Katherine did not want to take the front grill off of the vented fireplace;therefore, could not inspect the fireplace. Katherine said we would never need to clean the inside of the fireplace or the chimney since it is propane. We were disappointed with our propane fireplace inspections & we felt scammed for $120. The company should have been upfront that they don’t service propane fireplaces on the phone when making the appointment.

First bad review I have ever written. We hired her to install new chimney caps after the May 15th microburst blew ours off, and also install a chimney liner for the boiler chimney. They came quickly, seemed professional and gave a competitive price so we went with them. Was a strange dynamic, Carlos does the work while she stands behind him pointing out the obvious, or sits in the truck on the phone. During install, after trying for 3+ hours and not being able to get it in, she then informed me they would need to break through the exterior brick on our chimney to get the liner in. I was concerned about this as it was unexpected, and she assured me it is common. (Two other companies I spoke to after said it is sometimes necessary, but that should have been known up front.) We have a wood burning fireplace on the upper level of our house which worked great for many years. We replaced our pellet stove at the lower level of the house with a propane fueled stove 2 years ago. Immediately we had problems with the fireplace smoke flowing into the house instead of up the chimney. We contacted several fireplace/chimney services and was told that we needed to rebuild the fireplace. This would have necessitated removing much of the natural stone facing to the tune of $13,000. Finally, after not using our fireplace for 2 years, we contacted Local Chimney LLC. Catherine came by and took a look at the chimney and immediately told us that we had 2 flues occupying the chimney competing for air. She and her team built a new higher flue for the fireplace. my wood stove and chimney needed a lot of work, local chimney came and did an excellent job cleaning out all the build up creosote. They were professional, efficient & reasonably priced. I will definitely be using their service in the future.

For many years we wanted to have our chimney repaired. It was leaky and old... we got several estimates but non of them was affordable. However, my co-worker gave me this companies nam and phone number and we called them right away. They came out and gave us a quote! We could not believe how reasonable they were.. we gave them the job! Their work was excellent and we were ecstatic with the work they performed. They work fast and they cleaned up really well. You wouldn't even notice such major repairs that were performed. I will always recommend them!
