Long-Term Parking at San Francisco International Airport

Ordinarily, this parking garage gets the job done. I always reserve in advance and I've never really had a problem finding a parking spot even if it does take some driving around sometimes. Sometimes they even plug my electric car in if it's a little low on juice. But recently the garage was particularly full and I was parked in the overflow garage. I had just landed and took the airtrain to the garage and walked across the sky bridge and then got into the elevator to go down to the third floor where my car was. The elevator started and then abruptly stopped and I could tell that I was between floors. That's not a good sign. I pressed the emergency call button expecting nothing to happen and to my surprise, somebody answered immediately. I explained that I was stuck in the elevator between

Easy to book and prepaid for parking. Was easy to find and just drove to the garage using google maps. But once inside, the garage itself is poorly organized. Imagine a massive garage with no signage for available spots or parking sensors for a row on the floor. I had to drive around for 15 minutes getting anxious by the minute. I wish this situation gets improved by the facility. Otherwise the connectivity to the Terminals through airtrain is so convenient.

The QR code readers at this lot have not functioned properly for 10 years. Instead, management has to post employees at the exit to help people try to get the QR codes to work. This time, which will be my last ever visit to this parking garage, the QR code wouldn't read on the way in or the way out, wasting my time and causing a backup even with the employees posted at the exit trying to help out. What a waste of time and resources. Management needs to get its act together. How about buying some decent QR readers? That's got to be cheaper than stationing people at the readers 24/7.

HEADS UP- the $25 maximum a day is a lie! If your flight is over 2 hours late, they will reset your rate and start billing you hourly regardless of your total time in garage. Always set your exit time as 11:59 PM to try to avoid this.

It's not hard to International Terminal Departures Level 3 to go long term parking, just simply follow the road sign long term parking and park ur big van or car , take blue line train to come back International Terminal Level 3 gate A .
