Excellent experience. Ordered 3 cubic yards of 3/4” drainage rock. Delivered two days later to my property in the nearby hills. Driver was professional and most importantly very skilled. He navigated around my oak trees to drop off closer to worksite which saved my crew at least 2 hrs of extra hauling. Highly recommended. See video of the tight space.

⚠️ Warning: Be very cautious if you order from Macalvey's Nursery on Alhambra Way in Martinez. We ordered and paid for 5 cubic yards of paver base. We moved it ourselves using 3-gallon buckets — exactly 225 buckets total. That equals about 90 cubic feet, which is only 3.3 cubic yards. For comparison, 5 cubic yards should be 135 cubic feet. We were almost 2 cubic yards short. When we tried to resolve this, my husband even went in person and was willing to pay again for the missing amount just so we could finish our project. Instead of making it right, they told us we’d also have to pay another delivery fee and completely denied that they had shorted us. When I called to follow up, I was brushed off. These guys use a half ton scoop to measure one yard and then charge twice as much as other stores. Their scoop does not measure one yard. It is 1/2 yard. Therefore, I ordered 3 yards cobblestone; received 1 1/2, turning my job into a real struggle. Skimping on deliveries may work on homeowners, but it will not work on contractors. Grateful Gardens will continue to take our substantial business to American Soils in Richmond.

March 16, 2023. Approximately 9:28am. Southbound on Pleasant Hill Rd - turning right on Olympic. One of their trucks merging to the left into my lane just before the turnaround dangerously cut me off. If I can't trust your delivery drivers to safely deliver your product, why would I bother doing business here? Everything caught on dashcam. Let your driver know had I been a jerk I'd have let him hit us and it would have cost you guys a lot more than a bad review.
