Madewell Masonry and Chimney Services

Dave, DJ and crew recently finished a large mortar repair and garage door lentil repair for me. This company provides outstanding service and quality. From the first communication, through the quoting process, all the way to project completion, I couldn’t have asked for a smoother process. The team at Madewell Masonry went above and beyond in delivering excellent service. Not only did they provide a quote that was much less than expected, they offered additional repairs to my porch that wasn't even planned. They were able to get our repairs done in a timely fashion, were very careful & considerate, and delivered well above what they promised. I can't recommend them enough!

Madewell Masonry did an amazing job rebuilding this chimney that got struck by lightning. They were able to match the brick within a few shades of the original brick. They did a good job grinding out all the 70 year old chimney mortar joints and replacing the crown. More than I wanted to spend but it’s done. They left it cleaner than it was to start with. If you looked at the chimney where it passes through the attic after extended rain , before the work…it was wet and the framing lumber around the chimney was wet. Ignore that and the cost and scope of work can grow substantially. After their work, it’s all dry, no moisture. Madewell Masonry are straight up good folks … many years of experience. David Mosely is a good guy and his son and the others just get it done. I would use them again.

Very nice people, but in my experience they had very poor follow through. I am grateful that they returned my calls, since many don’t even do that. But I had to keep calling to ask for the estimate and then was told he needed to come by the next day to look at it again (someone else had come out the first time). I waited all day and nobody came. I finally gave up and found another company to replace my porch steps. I will say they were very nice every time I talked to them. I just think my project was likely too small, and I wish they would have told me that sooner so I didn’t waste a lot of time and could have moved on.
