I hate leaving bad reviews, I don’t like sounding like a jerk but this company earned it in more ways than I thought possible. They managed to damage every single piece of furniture I own. They broke my brand new desk by trying to flip it sideways so they didn’t have to carry it. The leverage snapped the joint (I heard it crack, it was so loud, the photos are below) and now it’s wobbly and crooked. They also put it on a dolly with no padding or protection. To add insult to injury, they tried to tell me that it wasn’t a big deal and I could “fix it myself” with an L bracket. My console table? Scratched and scuffed all over from the same thing—no blankets, no care. My bed frame also, same situation, scuffs and marks all over. This furniture was all brand new as of 6 months ago. Mako Movers were very professional with our move. The team took great care and pride in their work. I know mistakes can be made sometime while moving but there was nothing broke or scratched even. Color me impressed. I would recommend them in the future for sure.

The only reason this company is getting a 1 star review is because zero stars is not an option. This company is the absolute worst moving company we've ever used and we've moved 11 times, so have plenty of options to compare them to. It started with underestimating the costs, obviously in order to make them seem like a better option. Then they didn't bring enough boxed to pack everything up so a full room got moved by just throwing the items onto a truck. The main truck, a 1980's special, was not big enough to handle everything so they brought a tow-behind trailer and threw things in there. We were told all of that would be boxed up when it got to their facility and of course, most of it wasn't. They couldn't make the unloading date because the old excuse for a truck broke down and lo

Do not use this company. We booked them for December 22nd, they responded, were eager, everything booked. We did not follow up, didn’t even think of it. We got a flier to the house we purchased and looked at the reviews. Yesterday they didn’t show. We called over and over and finally in touch with someone who texted. Said they were sorry, they moved us without consent and will be here the next day at 9:00 am. Today, we are here at 10:30, called, texted. The person said they were in the doctor and then didn’t respond for an hour and a half. We are a family of seven a few days before Christmas with mattresses on the ground. The move with Mako went reasonably well, with the exception of an item that did not turn up. I contacted the owner who said I would be reimbursed. That never happened. After several attempts to contact them I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The bureau reported that Mako Movers did not respond to their inquiries. I continue to hope that they reach out to us.
