MAP Moving & Storage Inc.

I originally hired a company by the name of Swift Shift Van Lines, who lied and told me they were a moving company but instead was a broker that contracted my account over to Map Moving Inc. I did not receive my things until almost a month later and the majority of my things were broken. Not to mention, that their customer service was horrible. I paid good money for my furniture and appliances and my belongings were in excellent condition but by the time it got to me, they were destroyed. By all means necessary, please avoid these two companies.

We used a broker and the broker actually hired this company. When the movers got to our house they were extremely nice. But they had their 13-year-old child with them helping them move our stuff. (I understand it's summer and the kid is bored and wanted to help but this is our whole life they're moving and i feel a 13 year should not have been responsible for our stuff .) The driver did discuss with us there was a possibility of us having to pay more but it all depended on how much was in the truck. We ended up paying almost $800 more than what we were quoted and I had to leave half my stuff on the side of the road. Or they would have charged us more. MAP was contracted by Brightside Moving Group which I was completely unaware of until they arrived at my home. Pickup was scheduled for Wednesday, August 14th with Thursday, August 15th being the backup day. On August 14th, I had not heard anything so called Brightside and was told move date was the 15th now. When the gentlemen arrived, I had everything packed (exactly as instructed). MAP began inventory and requested a signature on Household Goods Descriptive Inventory, Onsite New Binding Estimate, Packing Material Charges & Order Form, General Agreement, Press Board & Particle Furniture Notice and Long-Distance Department papers (move from Nebraska to Florida). This company is the worst if I could give a 0 I would. I paid about 4k for my whole move because they added on another 650$ for packing up 2 sheets of glass and 2 tvs I didn't have packed and thankfully they weren't broken. However almost half of everything else was broken my shelfs, desk, various items in my boxes since the boxes were crushed it feels like my stuff was treated poorly and thrown around. When I tried to make a insurance claim I was offered 60$ for hundreds of dollars worth of damage and was gaslight into it being my fault for not buying their better protection and that the material of my items were cheap an prone to breaking... like what? No one expects their stuff to be broken on a move. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Never use this company. My stuff was practically destroyed and they scammed me out of so much money. Kept my stuff hostage on delivery until I got a money order from the post office even though they accepted a money order from Walmart on pickup so I ended up having to pay an extra 2500$ to get my stuff from them. When I did get it back it was basically destroyed. Would never recommend this company to anyone.
