Jake was incredibly professional throughout the entire discovery process. He kept us informed and the bid was very competitive. But even more than the affordability of the bid to replace our boiler was their attitude of honesty, truly wanting to do the best by us and the transparency. I was so impressed. The communications “system” at Matheny Heating and Cooling in St. Louis, Missouri gets a grade of F-. I should have figured this out when I initially tried to contact them by phone, left messages and got no response. A snowstorm and single digit temperatures were on the way and I had no heat coming from my (old) boiler. Finally, I drove to the place of business and spoke with a real person (when all else fails…). On the first day of work and throughout the course of work, I got emails and texts from some website in California informing me that a technician was on his way, giving name of technician and date - NOT the time - he would arrive. I got at least three “false alarms” from this company telling me workmen were “on the way” and never showed up, or else other workmen were already at

My wife booked a tech visit because our A/C unit was working, but not keeping up for the past summer. The tech came onsite, changed the filters and then basically said things are working but that we should consider a splitter/ new unit. Later, I personally decided to do a little more digging and work on the unit. After removing the outer section of the A/C unit I found that there was a high level of buildup on the heating coils and a thorough cleaning was what was needed to get the unit working properly again. I was disappointed that a 101 check was not completed for a unit that was described as "working, but not working 100%". I expect a little more investigation from an HVAC service.
