I usually don’t leave reviews, except for restaurants, but what Matt did to my home today is worth sharing. My house is a typical cookie-cutter home built by Lennar in 2021. After installing a Tesla charger, I noticed the main breaker was getting extremely hot and would trip frequently, so much so that I had to stop using the supercharger altogether. Matt came over, assessed the issue, and recommended replacing the aluminum wires to the main breaker with copper. He also upgraded the system to handle a higher power capacity. On top of that, he discovered that the Tesla supercharger was drawing about 60% more current than advertised, which was placing additional load on the system. So I had this company come when I bought my house in port Charlotte had new electrical panel done which was good!! The problem I have with this company is I had existing out door spot light that I had them replace and now the switch in off position was now the on position and when you go to turn the switch in what would be the on position it trips and owner said he would come out and fix it but he was going on vacation then every time you try to get a hold of them they don’t answer or return calls now have to pay someone else to fix there problem which is not how you run a business!!

This is my 2nd experience with Matt's Electric. It is a family owned and operated company right here in Port Charlotte Fl. I always use local entrepreneurs when I need to hire for any service and I find it works best for all concerned. Faster service is the first perk I noticed with reliability a close second. Matt's electric was no exception and I highly recommend Matt and his family for top quality electrical service at a reasonable price. Keep your money circulating in the local economy. Neighbor helping neighbor.

We had Matt's Electric come out and figure out what was going on with our pool lights. He discovered after tireless effort that when they had switched over to the new electrical box they had cut the wires and never hooked them back up. Instead they shove them up in a space in the wall. I thought the rate was reasonable he was here for 3 hours found the problem fixed it and the bill was less than 200. We plan using them to come out and hook up the rest of the cut lines. I did read the other review and I would suggest they work on their billing procedures. I was never given any rates nor was I informed about how I was going to be billed.

*nothing about their electrical work, but this guy almost just hit my car with my two toddlers inside…just to try to get through a light. New to the area, and know who NOT to reach out to!
