I special ordered a three step egress ladder at this Menards - it took two weeks to ship, and when it arrived, it was in terrible condition - see photos for yourself. Two people at the store said that I could return it and not be charged at 25% restocking fee, they called it terrible condition. However, when Tess, the general manager, came over she told me that they all look like this, and that it's not that bad; see photos again - literally missing pieces. She treated me like a problem and acted like she was doing me a favor by offering in-store credit rather than giving me the money back so I can get it elsewhere cause I needed it the next day. On Thursday the 28th of August , I attempted to purchase a cases of water at Menards. The shelf was clearly labeled with a price of $2.97, but at checkout it rang up as $7.98. When I raised the issue, both managers and the general manager refused to honor the displayed price. I waited nearly 20 minutes for an answer, and they gave conflicting explanations — first saying it was the wrong item, then that it was listed under a different SKU. However, the shelf tag I photographed had no SKU number at all, and I also took a video showing that the item next to it had its own separate sale price. I dont usually use shipments for small orders locally. My schedule got the best of me so I ordered on line for delivery. I found some time to pick my order up, so I called and asked if I could just pick it up. I was told that it would be fine. No excuses or that wouldnt be possible. Just no problem, she said she would just change it. I had already paid the payment for the product and delivery. I figured I would have to dispute the delivery charge on my card to get it back. NOPE, checking my card I was already being credited for the delivery charge. Not only that I recieved an email and today a letter confirmation. This was so refreshing. I’m submitting this feedback following a very frustrating customer service experience that could have been resolved quickly with basic transaction research. I attempted to return a table saw after losing my receipt and replacing a stolen debit card. I followed Menards’ stated process by attempting to use the receipt lookup kiosk on multiple occasions. The kiosk was not working the day prior and was also down when I arrived at the store, which is why I sought assistance from management. I first spoke with an assistant manager and then with the store manager, Tess, who stated she has been with Menards for approximately three years. Menards is under the radar for good deals and a variety of products. Some Small food and beverage aisles are reasonably priced as most things are in this store. I go here several times a week. It would get a 5 star review except for the silly 11% off rebate mail in process on purchases .
