Mike Jansen was hired by us to fully tear out a deck which had been under construction by another contractor and to then build us a deck that was complex and surrounded a partially dug in swim spa already in place.  The tear out was a tough feat given that it had to be done in a manner that did not damage the swim spa which was already set, and the process included removing footings on either side of the spa.  It was a very challenging process and Mike got it done with grace!  The deck we ended up with is beautiful!  More than that, it is well built, constructed according to the plan, meets all code requirements and it was done quickly and efficiently.  His redo has provided us with closure after a tough situation, and we now have a little slice of heaven to enjoy just outside our kitchen

We are so happy with our deck built by Mike and his crew! Excellent, professional work from everyone from the front office who helped us design our new deck (and were extremely patient as we went through 3 different bids and designs before deciding!) to the construction crew who built the deck in early December after a snowstorm. Highly recommend!!!

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Mike and his team! From the start-estimate, conception, planning,building,completion. The team works together to understand what we wanted. Plans were drawn and nothing was started till we were sure they understood our vision. Every step was completed by Mike and his team-contacting the zoning, the utilities, the county office. The work was completed in 4 days and the deck is amazing. Highly recommend Mike and his team!!

GREAT company! My friends had an old, very large deck, and when they replaced it, they raved about how efficient, courteous, and professional everyone they dealt with was, and their new deck was beautiful. I knew from their recommendation that we would also contract with Mike Jansen Custom Decks, and we are so glad we did. I spoke with Megan at their office and as I described certain design elements I wanted to change for our new deck, she was typing on her computer.
