Miles Plumbing and Heating

Needed my under mount sink rechaulked and was told this is something they can handle. Unfortunately, after a quick look at the sink I was told they do not have the skills to work on undermount sinks. It would have been ideal if they asked to make sure it was not an undermount sink before driving over and charging $150 for 5 minutes of inspection. I ended up calling a local handyman and got it fixed for half the price. I understand now that this was likely a scam tactic.

I would like to just give a warning about a plumbing company. I had my drains snaked by Miles pumping and heating. While it was being done I noticed how loud it was (I've had my drain snaked in the past and it just seemed louder than before). Days to follow I noticed a sewage smell which I just thought was maybe residual from the snaking even though I hadn't experienced it before. I heard a rushing water sound after flushing so I went to check it out and found images below. I contacted miles and asked for a potential refund but they said they were not liable. That wasn't disclosed to me verbally or in any written contract. Not to mention I had to pay another plumber to fix the damages immediately as it couldn't wait, and was told this was just negligence on the plumbers behalf. I don't bel

I was VERY pleased and satisfied with the work Miles Plumbing did when they replaced my sewer stack. They showed up right on time and when I questioned as to how they were going to remove my vinyl beadboard in the bathroom he gave me the name of a carpenter that he works with on some of the jobs they do, the carpenter was great, punctual and very personable, he removed the wall so Miles could get to the sewer vent and returned to put the wall back up. Everyone was very polite, thorough, friendly and very accommodating, they finished the job right on schedule. It was easy to get an appointment and they were on time, friendly, etc. That being said, I had a shower drain issue. I had already opened the ceiling underneath the shower to gain access to the drain. They just applied a single tube of silicone caulk and billed me almost $300 for 2 hours ($135/hour) + material ($15). Then an additional 3% in fees for using a credit card. I'm not unreasonable and understand the billing time includes driving, assessing, and the actual work. But being charged $300 to have a single tube of caulk applied to an already accessible area is pretty upsetting.
