Mississippi Power

Recently moved here trying to get my electric transfer to my name unable to do so because out of state driver's license. Hence just moved here.. trying to get Mississippi license which is impossible because I do not have two forms of residency I have my lease but of course no utilities in my name because I won't turn it on without a valid Mississippi license. Also forgot to mention I also have terminal cancer. They did not care they did not help me they did not give me no suggestions. I sure do want that $300 deposit but they do not want to turn on my service. It is a vicious circle and I have no idea what to do now

Takes forever just to get someone on the phone just for them to tell you that they can’t extend your bill or let you pay a certain amount. However, if you bring up that you have children then they’ll start to listen.

They say that there is a thing such as Southern hospitality. However , I have found the opposite to be true. I call it southern hostility , and this has been my experience with this electric company. I have never been late on a power bill until we moved here. And both became unemployed period I called the company immediately to tell them, and to find out if there were any payment plans, or any sort of budget billing that we could be put on. I was promptly told no. I just called again and was told they don't offer payment plans. They do not offer them for disabled vets or disabled people unless you're accepting money from the government such as SSI disability. Crappy experience recently, but the power part worked. 1) Alerts do not alert you, even after enrolling in cell and email alerts. 2) Residential power customer service is only available Monday-Friday. If you need them on the weekends, you can kick rocks. 3) I’ve encountered bugs on the Mississippi power website, but of course, it was on a Saturday.
