We had used MJ's for a year and was very reliable. They would mow our yard when we would call. I frequently would tag them when others were looking for work done. Then we bought our house last winter. We knew we'd need to have some work done. We called him out in March to bid us for larger jobs. Tree trimming, aerating, fertilizing, pest control, weed control etc. The bid was $900. I sent him $500 via Venmo. I'm glad I did pay it as a business service. Messages from April to June were so unresponsive. Frequent times mentioned to do services and never showed. They did one service, aerating and fertilizing in early April.
