This was my first home building project(at least as the buyer) and I had no idea what I was doing. JD had patience and honest advice throughout the process. There were a couple of delays throughout the process that were not JD's fault, but he still did his best to make it right. I gave him 3 parameters in the beginning (square, plumb and level) and checked the work when no one was looking. I was always pleased to find the level bubble centered between the lines every time. And everything was always as square as efficient construction can be. Keith and his team were always professional and courteous and were never condescending when I had questions about the process. I intentionally delayed this review for several months so that there was time for the little things that pop up after project

My wife and I first met with JD when we began planning our modular Vacation/Rental home in Black Mountain, NC. Deciding to work with JD was the best choice we could possibly have made. We live 800 miles from Black Mountain, and could not be there for most of the work. JD handled every step of the build, and stayed in touch with us with daily phone calls. We worked from one of their stock designs and made modifications, which turned it into a unique home. I was able to be there to see the crane move the modular's pieces into place and watch the house appear in one day. JD's very professional crew then started working on the details. They finished the construction of the second floor and the porch. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful home. JD was very attentive, and it was a pleasure

We had some apprehension about finding the right builder for our first newly constructed home. Choosing JD Wallace and Mountain Brook Homes was the best decision we could have made. He is an excellent communicator who kept us thoroughly informed at every step and just as important, he listens. Cost estimates were on target and the quality of work is awesome. He got us into our new home by Christmas 2024 despite the devastation of Helene, loss of power and water and so much destruction in our town. Simply amazing.

JD helped us navigate through a modular cabin project that turned out to be much more complicated than we had anticipated. He always seemed to know the right person or have a creative idea to help get around each new obstacle. He also worked with us with humor and understanding keeping our best interests in mind. I can't recommend him highly enough as a contractor.
