Loved the observation deck, got to see some vultures and the lay out of the land. Although we weren't there during a sunrise/sunset I think it would be a very nice time to be there. Only thing not good was the bird poop, it was thick in places.
Visited Aransas Wildlife Area, taking the auto tour and spent time at the observation decks. Nice area, wish the government was open so we could have gotten to talk with rangers. Not as many birds as we'd hoped, but a windy winter day may have been the reason. Did espy heron, egret, buzzard, deer, feral hog, and alligator.
Amazing view. Great spot for bird watching. This whole park is impressive but this overlook is the icing on the cake.
Beautiful views of the park. Trivia: It is 283 steps from the top to the bottom.
