Ogden Decks

Nick and Bobby did an excellent job in refurbishing our 29-year-old deck. They were very nice and pleasant to work with. They were sensitive to our needs and concerns and did their best to address each of them. We are definitely pleased with their work and the results of their efforts. I call them the “A Team”. We also appreciated Management in helping with and supporting a minor build change to our project. The deck turned out great.

Ogden Decks rebuilt our deck after the previous one started falling apart. We went with Trex this time because wood wasn't holding up in Huntsville winters. The Trex Decking Contractor showed us samples and we picked something that looks like cedar but doesn't need the upkeep. It's been through one full winter already and still looks the same as install day. My partner was worried about the composite feeling cheap but it's sturdy as hell.

We had a deck installed in 2023 and it is the worst contractor experience I’ve ever had. They subcontracted the work out to a general handyman, who not only had never worked with them before but had never built a deck. We only found that out in conversation as he was leaving. The supervisor spent the entire day sitting in his car. Disappointment when I came home from work the first day is an understatement. Several obvious deficiencies in both labor and materials. Lumber barely over salvage quality, with huge chunks, gouges, and warped boards. Corners that don’t meet square. Braces that don’t even touch the board they support. Over sunk screws. Boards cut too short, leaving ¾ in gaps they filled in with caulk. Wobbly and uneven steps. When my wife brought up the problems on the second day

Ogden Decks built us a Trex deck that actually matched the pictures my partner kept showing me. Didn't think we could afford it but they found options in our price range. The guy explained different Trex materials without making it complicated. Now we're outside most evenings in our Farmington backyard instead of staring at our phones inside. Those hidden fasteners they used—no visible screws anywhere—makes it look way better than what our neighbors have.

We had a great experience with Ogden Decks! We had a small, old, ugly deck that was starting to fall apart, so we decided to bite the bullet and build a whole new, much larger composite deck in its place. I got quotes from 4 different companies and Ogden Decks had a really good quote for us. I was able to go to the showroom and check out all the options and get some helpful input from Cait. The build took a while to get started (but I actually took that as a good sign, in that the company must do good work if they're getting that much business! 😁).
