Parking Garage III (Pratt Street): Duke North Parking Garage

This deck needs some serious work on signage. Directions to visitor parking ( as opposed to employee parking) is easy to miss - and inside the garage, directions to parking designated for the ambulatory surgery center are non-existent (or incredibly difficult to find). Have a little compassion for people bringing loved ones to surgery and are in a new place for the first time! While searching for these spaces today, I saw multiple upset and obviously confused drivers driving back and forth, not sure where to park. A few more signs, please!!!

This parking deck is much different compared to the ones at the main campus. Here, you pay your parking ticket while driving out of the parking deck. The main campus parking deck makes you pay at the paying stations located near the elevators. This can be confusing if you are used to going to the main campus. Also, there is an entrance to the surgical pavilion off of the 2nd floor of the parking deck. We didn't know this existed and went downstairs, out the front of the building, around the sidewalk, and into the parking deck. Had we known, we would have parked at the surgery pavilion entrance and not made my husband walk as far for his surgery on his leg.

When parking in the parking garage be sure when you exit to be in the right hand lane it's for visitors and patients. The other two are for employees. It does not accept cash.
