Parkway Parking - 79 Union Ave

I park in this garage during a monthly meeting I have in downtown Memphis. There are plenty of spots but they are all kind of close together. The only way to pay is via an app but they have QR codes around get you to the pay point. It has always been easy to get in/out and I have never had any issues.

I pay for monthly. Somehow my payment "didnt go through" despite them sending the bill showing the charge from the day before and now I have a large fee due because their dumbass dispute system is saying no

The 24 hour rate does not exist when you actually pay on the app. And neither do the evening rates. It’s 1, 2 or 12 hour increments you can purchase which ends up being much more expensive than the 24 hour rate advertised. That’s a bad service to the community.

This place, despite the name, is definitely not fun. First, they make you pay with an app that only gives you the option to pay $21. Forget paying cash. Then they have the nerve to post several different rates on their website and sidewalk sign after they charged you that is less than half of what you should pay. But that’s not the best part. No. The best part is they charge you 12 hours 3:45pm-3:45am, yet they close the parking ramp at 11pm, forcing you to not only pay for another day, but also find another way to wherever you’re going, because they’re essentially confiscating your vehicle. Avoid this place at all costs. Classic bait and switch scam joint.

I would never use this parking or recommend it to anyone else. Being from out of the country we were unable to use our bank cards to pay at the machine prior to parking, after asking for help from the security/attendant which took 10 mins to explain. She told us they were unable to help. But for the privilege of trying for over 10 min we were charged $50 US. After calling the centre and explaining what had happened, we were then told that there was nothing we could do until we received the fine. We have rented the car as we are on holiday the fine will be taken from us by the rental agency (involving another party) and if the grievance is excepted we would still be charged $14 US the 24 hour fee when there is an hour fee of 3.50 US which would be more acceptable under the circumstances.
