We've had a couple emergency situations this winter and overall Petro service is great. We're able to get fast service and the techs are knowledgeable, our issues have been professionally handled to our expectations. BUT-- getting through on the phone can be very difficult, we've had to wait hours on hold or waiting for a call back. We do eventually talk to someone same day so it seems to be reliable once we are able to get ahold of someone. Oil service is great, the usage tracking and auto-delivery has been convenient.

Was a customer for 3 years. They were always prompt with deliveries, so I never worried about running out of oil. Unfortunately their home heating oil is very expensive and customer service is lacking. Paid $4.18 a gallon in November of 2025. When I called to let them know I wouldn’t be renewing my contract with them in December because of a price increase they made it difficult and belittled me. I switched to another company, avoid these people like the plague.

Owning a home is so stressful. Not knowing what is going to break next. Petro has been a reliable and entirely helpful resource for all of our furnace and plumbing for eight years and counting. They might cost a bit more but I will tell you from my personal experience that there is no bigger relief than having their service plan, calling in freaked out about no heat on the 1st floor, or third floor, always discovered in the middle of the night of course. Or in our most recent home owning fun, hearing a thunderous banging, coming from the furnace area, making that nervous service call, and having a friendly experienced tech arrive shrtly thereafter to examine everything and voluntarily go through a furnace 10-point maintenance -- at 10pm the night before Thanksgiving, by the way -- and havi

I had a new indirect heating system installed through CCAP back in 2023. I was told the system came with a warranty and should I have any issues to reach out to Petro. I tried calling several times and texted Andy from the install team who gave me his personal contact card should anything arise on several different occasions and never heard back. I mentioned in texts that I still have that my water would still run cold after awhile of use which shouldn't be happening with indirect! I also mention in text that I still have, leaks in the system. Fast forward to now, the leak turns out was a gasket and oil nozzle diagnosed by another company to the tune of $350. The water turning cold issue i ended up finding out after just 2 years my circulator went bad to the tune of another $650 cost to me

We were loyal customers of PETRO for 26 years, but they’ve lost their way. Charging for services they never provided, charging for services under contract using dishonest practices, technicians that are outright rude and less knowledgeable about their jobs than they profess to be. If you’re thinking of using PETRO for anything, don’t. There are plenty of good companies willing to put the customer first without signing up for PETRO. I’d give them a zero but they only go down to a 1.
