Portsmouth Square Garage

Portsmouth Square Parking Garage is the parking garage in the middle of San Francisco Chinatown. The Portsmouth Square Park is on top of the garage. The parking garage is huge with multiple levels. It has elevators connecting each level to the Portsmouth Square Park. The exit no longer accepts cash or credit payments. The parking garage has automatic self-service kiosks. But some of the kiosks were not working when we were there! The Portsmouth Square parking garage is the most popular parking garage if you’re visiting San Francisco Chinatown. The entrance is convenient and the price is reasonable.

Great location in Chinatown that provides walking distance for other neighborhoods too. Relatively inexpensive compared to most private lots and parking structures. If you arrive early you can get right in. When the garage fills up they let cars in as others leave, which is usually a reasonable wait.

Very clean and organized, signs are clear. Even has some nice decorations. Best garage in the neighborhood! Highly recommend!

The only parking garage I've ever been in that is decorated & welcoming. A beautiful, giant mural is painted by main entrance, showing pictures of Chinese New Year celebrations. There is artwork greeting you on the main floor. All the floors are labeled with different traits; today I parked on the Wisdom level/3. It is clean & well lit. And the tickets are easy to pay at a machine on your way back or via your phone. Easy Access to Chinatown & many restaurants. And reasonable prices for an evening out. Right near the Hilton Hotel on Kearny. And there is a garden square above where people dance or play games..it is a true hub of the community.

Close area to park and very affordable. Unfortunately, we are to be added to the list of break-ins. It's inevitable in this city. Unfortunately, on our last day. We are from Oregon, so we stood out well. The security guy was helpful in the sense of helping us clean our broken glass and covering it up with plastic bags. Just don't leave anything in your car.
