I have been quiet for a long time, but people deserve to know our experience with Dave Clevenger. We paid over $100,000 and waited more than two years. During that time, no work was completed and no building permit was obtained, despite being told otherwise. We were repeatedly delayed with explanations that never resulted in progress. This has been financially and emotionally devastating. I am sharing this so others can make informed decisions and avoid going through what we did. Accountability matters.

Called everyday for a week trying to get through to someone. Emailed them, finally got a response and scheduled a phone appointment. Appointment time comes around, nothing. Emailed again, there was a mixup in scheduling, we rescheduled. Finally got a call, explained that we were looking at two of their single family home options, but wanted to customize a little as far as floor plan. Spent 18 minutes on the phone explaining the process just to be told that they aren’t interested in helping as they want to focus more on producing ADUs. Why do you have the option to build homes on your website that you don’t actually want to build? And why do you say you’re willing to customize on the website, but not want to actually customize? Wasting people’s time.

This contractor is being investigated by several agencies. Check with the Contractors license Board and the District Attorney before you enter into any agreement.

Do not contract with this firm. They will not perform. There are many clients who have paid but no work has been done.

We have been researching buying an ADU for a few months. Finally we have found the person & company we will proceed with. Ticked all our boxes for a prefabricated ADU.
