As part of an initiative by Dominion Energy in Northern Virginia, Prudent Homes was identified as a company that could perform a home energy audit and identify any areas that could be improved for energy efficiency. Our attic was identified as an area that could be improved. A company representative (Karla Andersson) came to our home and explained the process, the costs, financing and benefits. She did an excellent job. We accepted the proposal from Prudent Homes and the project began the next week. It was a big one day job to remove old insulation, replace it with energy saving insulation, seal openings and add insulation to the pull-down attic stairs. We had a great experience with Prudent. Our house is a bit unique in that, because of additions, we have 3 separate attics...With some insulation below floor boards. They worked hard to get us a good price and worked within our schedule, insulating in less than a week. They were meticulous in getting accurate measurements, and the day of, they sent six workers and 3 trucks. The work was completed in a day and they left the house just as they had found it.
