We live in a condo built in the '70's - when the cabinets were built in place in one long run. They were framed cabinets with only small drawers on top - all the rest were the "cupboards". We wanted full-extension drawers to replace all the small drawers and cupboards. Every vendor that came to bid expected to pop out the old cabinet and replace with a new one of same dimension... but because of other installations (granite counters with full-height back-splash), this couldn't be done. We would need a true carpenter to hand cut the "frames" away, remove the stiles, and do a retrofit to install the glides and drawers while keeping the wood boxes originally built in place.
