Five stars all the way. Back in late April, while being advised by someone over the phone, I was trying to unclog my washing machine’s filter on the third floor of my condo, and even though I was prepared with a pan and towels, a gallon or two of dirty water poured out all over the floor, and leaked through my ceiling and onto the hardwood kitchen floor below. Immediately I knew I needed help, so I put out job feelers on Thumbtack, and Steve from Red Star Restoration was the first to reply. After a phone conversation that night, he came out the next day and immediately got to work with dehumidifying units and humidity tests. Had Steve out for emergency roof clearing after ice dam leaks started appearing. He was shown where exactly the leak was as a concern location (halfway across the upper roof in the attached photo). Steve assured me he would clear snow halfway up the roof, doing a better job than the crew who did it previously (slight line visible about 4' from the edge). Attached drone photo is from the morning after, showing he barely touched the upper roof, despite claiming to have done the whole thing. I have yet to receive a response to my inquiry why we were charged hundreds of dollars for an unfinished job. If he had considered it too unsafe or unreachable, he could have told me instead of assuming I wouldn't be able to see what he hadn't done, taking our money, and running. Steve was courteous and

Red Star did not complete the job and blocked communication when we wanted him to come back to do what he was paid to do. Also, one of the 5 star reviews (Annie) is from his company (she handled the invoice and does marketing). Re Steve’s response: the work was not performed with integrity (high snow/ice left in roof eaves and gutters. Pathways were not cleared and definitely not as a courtesy as he charged $500/hour. I have photos of before and after work proving this and wish I could upload them here. Communication ceased when I asked he contact me privately to make it right, he commented asking me to message him and proceeded to block me from messaging. Steve came out personally to inspect the water damage and mold, gave a fair price and completed the job with his crew fairly quickly. Left no mess behind. He explained every single step and even helped me get a supplemental check from my insurance to put the wall and floor back. Highly recommend!

Steve helped me and my family out super fast and for a decent rate! I had black mold in my home and was desperate for help. Considering my huaband was allergic i needed help fast. Steve was there fast and had the mold gone so fast!! Thank you for your services!!!
