Retouching by Lorie

I came to Lorie with a photo that was damaged during a different repair. This was a large custom piece and there was no mistaking that as I had it there in person. Lorie explained the best option would be reprinting the piece on stretched canvas. When I asked how much that would cost, she replied "No more than a hundred dollars." I said that should be fine, but let me check with the owner to make sure she is okay with that. Come to find out Lorie went ahead and began the process for the repairs. My company received an invoice with a check in the spot of "Restoration of damaged old original." The invoice was for $150. More than my original quote of less than a hundred dollars. I'm a long time repeat customer and it's always a pleasure to work with Lorie. In addition to her skill, she possesses a general knowledge of photography and color. She not only knows the technology of how to achieve what a customer wants, she can give invaluable advice on what might be more tasteful and pleasing to the eye. In the beginning, most of the work she did for me was pretty straightforward; things like removing scratches and fold marks and color correcting pictures that had faded or yellowed over the years -- but that was because I didn't have any idea what magic she could perform! As time went on, I learned she could change a background and remove unwanted objects (and people) from a picture and she's the only one I would trust with handling and restoring my antique family

I gave Lorie three photos of my Mom to clean up so I could have 18x24 prints made for a memorial service. One was recent and in great shape, one was from 50 years ago and had large scares and blemishes, and one was from the 1930’s, faded and on textured paper. She responded immediately to my request, with a price (very reasonable) and timeframe. It must have taken many many hours to remedy the oldest photo…but within a couple days…I had them in hand and couldn’t be happier. I only needed a simple fix on a photo of a child with their eyes partially closed. Not only did Lorie respond quickly but the photo turned out great. You cannot even tell there was an issue at the beginning.
