Rhode Island Fencing Academy and Club (RIFAC)

I have loved our years at RIFAC! It has been a great place for my sons, who each have a different athletic ability and focus. The instructors are very knowledgeable and attentive, and allow children to progress at their own pace. I would also highly recommend the adult class - its the best way to understand the nuances of the sport, and great physical exercise!

Came here for HEMA longsword lessons with Halley and Victor and am wrapping up the intro course now. It has been a ton of fun from beginning to end learning fighting techniques handed down from a 13/14th century instructor. The classes aren't too strenuous, but as you move on, you do still work up a sweat. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know what its like to wield and defend yourself with realistic metal training swords!

Where do I start? It is just a great all around experience. Everyone working there makes an effort to get to know you, by name. They treat you like extended family and it's sincere and endearing. On top of that, the fellow students are great and welcoming, you never feel like and outsider and in my 4 short months there I've met so many quality individuals. It's a great learning environment and I'm fortunate to be able to take instruction at RIFAC.

I’ve gone to RIFAC for 5 almost 6 years now and the staff as well as my peers have changed the way I feel about sports and I’ve developed as a person and an athlete due to the time and care that has been placed into me, a single individual is amazing. The entire staff cares about teaching the sport they love and the community is very welcoming. I’ve grown in leaps in bounds as a fencer due to lessons and open fencing. The community is constantly growing and new faces are always welcomed. I miss RIFAC during these hard times and yet the staff has worked together to create online courses for the students to continue the development of everyone at RIFAC

I am a pediatrician and I have two children who are part of the program. I find the coaching excellent. The lessons blend a healthy view into confidence, competition and self-improvement. The children are allowed to craft and exercise their skills in a safe and secure environment. I would highly recommend Rhode Island Fencing Academy to my friends and family.
