BEWARE! Dan Lauterbur can not be trusted. He won't account for our $31k downpayment we paid for him in March, 2024 for an addition. He said they could start end of April or May. He even had the nerve to ask for more money! After many calls about starting our project, in the middle of August he demolished an exterior wall leaving our house exposed. 3 weeks later he tacked up a blue tarp after I contacted him of weather concerns. I went to Montgomery Town Hall and found our building permits had not been paid. He should not have started the project. I checked Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, finding I'm one of many who has been stolen from. Met Dan through one of his competitors who recommended him to me. Dan was very upfront explaining all the steps involved of how the job would be done. He listened to my ideas, gave his suggestions and turned all of them into a reality. This was a big job. He remodeled 2 baths, a laundry room, turned a never used living room into a private bedroom suite and replaced my backyard deck. I have never had any kind of work like this done before and was surprised how efficient and smooth everything went. Of course there were messes, but after each work day, my home was kept clean until the all jobs were satisfactorily completed. Dan and his entire staff were professional, courteous and made sure I was kept in the loop in all phases of production. I have recommended him to others without hesitatio

SLAVE LABOR Dan hired my company to make a home addition to a roof. Our company did the job it passed inspection. Our agreement was that we were to to paid after the job was completed that same day. Dan did not show after the job was completed. Dan has refused to answer our phone calls or met up with us. This company will not pay their subcontractors. Making someone work for free Dan is not very ethical. Hire them and a sub that isn’t as nice as us will most definitely tear down their work. It’s been over two months since the job was completed.

Highly recommend. We have used Riley and Rees for 2 home projects. The entire process from the initial consultation to design, remodel and follow up were all great experiences. Dan and his staff were highly professional, took time to listen to us, the quality of the work was outstanding, and overall experience was very positive. We have recommend Riley and Rees to our friends and would use them again.

Dan owes my husband $5,400 for HVAC work he had no complaints about. Been a year and he never paid us. We're pregnant with our first child and really need this income. We've contacted him multiple times and he never paid us. I can't believe people like this exist. I will remove this review once we get paid. We even told him we really need our money for our baby and no response.
