Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Water heater Roto-Rooter installed 4 years ago failed, flooding my house during the night in November. Refused to replace even though still under warranty. Replaced parts, charging me $1500 in labor and another $1300 for a water softener they said would help keep from issue in future. Technician couldn’t light water heater when finished and only hooked softener to hot water. Technician caused gas leak, then dispatcher didn’t feel it was urgent for them to fix gas leak causing me to wait for hours before I decided to just call the gas company. They took the call seriously, arriving in 20 minutes. They found large gas leak coming from water heater. They charged me $800 just to unclog the drain, which seemed high but I assumed it was a complex job. Took over 4 hours for anyone to come to our house after explaining the extent of our emergency (water gushing into our basement). Workers moved incredibly slowly once they arrived as our basement filled with water and didn’t even bring a pump or any equipment to get the water out. It almost seemed intentional to make the job more expensive. Quoted us $20,000 just to dry our basement and said it could take multiple days and potentially cost more. Predatory pricing for people who are desperate and need to save their home. Very disappointing first experience with this company. I would not recommend to anyone
