I have been a customer of Earnest Sohail for some time. He has always been very knowledgeable regarding all types of rugs and his prices are very fair and affordable. I recently purchased a large red, black and white crystal star burst rug from him that is an exceptional find. I also purchased a rug backing which enhances the beauty and feel of the rug. At the same time, he repaired and restored a pre-1920 Navajo rug which I have owned for 40 years. This rug had worn bare spots, holes and the entire border was in disrepair. The rug was a mess. Earnest skillfully rewove all of the worn spots and holes and restored the border to like new condition. His work is beautiful and expertly done. This rug is now museum quality.

He was extremely knowledgeable about the provenance of all the rugs he had on display from various countries, and took time to answer all our questions and to explain the meanings of the different colors and markings used by the modern and the older weavers. I was not expecting to make such an important purchase while in Santa Fe on vacation but I came across Earnest. He has a beautiful selection of rugs and he patiently took the time to show me the ones I was interested in. He has extensive knowledge about the rugs, where they were woven, the design type, the materials, etc. He has new and vintage rugs. The cost of the rugs was below what you will pay in a store front and he offers free shipping! Earnest shipped when he said he would and the rugs arrived in perfect condition. Highly recommend!
