SALT Basement Finishing

Korey and his subs did an amazing job. On time and on budget with excellent craftsmanship. We'd worked with Korey before- fifteen years ago when we refinished our Park City basement- they did a great job then and when we moved into a 100 year old landmark house in SLC they were there for us again. The job took a great deal of imagination and special carpentry to conceal exposed pipes, conduit and wiring that was all over the ceiling. The workmanship is first rate- framing, finishing, tile work, everything. The subs have worked together for years so the timing was seamless and Korey was especially helpful in staying on budget. SALT finished our walk-out basement. It was a good-sized project, about 850sq ft or so. We wanted to make a separate one-bedroom apartment that included a kitchenette with everything, a laundry closet, a bedroom, and a full bathroom. We also had them finish another room in the back area for a small gym room. The project took a little over four months. Korey was easy to get a hold of and would answer any questions we had, and all the sub-contractors were quick, friendly, and efficient. Every construction group that came through always cleaned up after themselves. Brian, the cabinet maker, somehow made the kitchen work well and look great! Though the project took longer than I would have liked, the end product is impressive. We are happy with the results!

SALT helped us renovate our entire home from September 2019 - February 2020. The process was in a word, pleasant. Korey, Kevin and Bryan (SALT’s cabinet maker) were delightful to work with and have true integrity. They get the job done without being pushy, bossy or forceful. They would give us their helpful opinions and were always willing to make adjustments as needed. They took every opportunity to save us money where they could which was so appreciated. I can’t recommend SALT enough!

Salt did put basement finish work only a few years ago. Basic things have deteriorated VERY quickly, drains were installed wrong, drywall wasn’t painted correctly (we can still see the words on the drywall) doors were glued so poorly, they’re constantly falling apart, tile work wasn’t sealed or installed properly, they went over their timeline/finish, they didn’t instal soundproofing when it was in contract, their staff harassed the homeowner and pried to try to get personal sexual information. This was all reported to Cory and team but never addressed or resolved. When the defects started showing up homeowner tried repeatedly to contact Cory and team with no response or attempt to repair. Do not use this company.

I had my basement finished last month by Salt Construction and just love it. Korey was able to utilize the small space perfectly to fit a laundry closet, bathroom, bedroom, and office. The quality and sub contractors was great.
