Schauer’s Hardware

They always have what I need and the people who work here are always offering help and guiding me to the correct aisle. I know i can walk in here and have a positive experience and walk out with what I need, or knowing where I can get it. What more could you want from a local hardware store? Tip: there's some parking in the back. Turn into the lot off of Des Plaines. It's a long lot/alley, but drive slow and look for their sign. You can enter from the back. Keys are made here, too.

I have been shopping at Schauer's for years. Customer service has always been exceptional. I would like to add recently I was working on a project and Dana helped me get over the hump with that same exceptional customer service. Management is fortunate to have such a dedicated and knowledgeable employee. Peace. Geo.

Always super helpful and friendly staff! I don't fo often, maybe 2 or 3x a year for random things. Today was for Drano. I'm always given a nice smile and offer to help me find what I came in for. Today I was happy for the staff person to give me recommendations on different drain cleaners besides, but including, my go-to: Drano. Very happy with the results! Another plus: big lot designated for only Schauer's customers in back. Always several spots open.

A true neighborhood hardware store. Keep them in business we need to appreciate what we have! Knowledgeable staff and well stocked. It's not a big box store but they've nearly always had what I needed. If you need a board or two they even stock lumber.

Bad job on wooden door screen replacement. Used nails that were too long, and ends came through the frame 1/8 - 1/4 inches. Now, if I don't fix the problem myself, the protruding points will give people cuts when they handle the door. Only response from Store was to say "Sorry" -- three times.
