Schroeder Design Build

Working with this company was excellent from start to project completion. My wife and I met with the design team. Nina and Jim were outstanding as we decided, planned, edited, and crafted the overall plans. Following this we moved to the implementation stage where the whole construction team met at our house, and walked us through the entire process. At the end of the construction of our new lanai, we are more than pleased with the build and love the design and overall look and feel of the new addition. We would work with this company again. Their focus on process was absolutely critical and all team members we worked with were absolutely professional and excellent. Thank you Schroeder Design Build!!!!

I thoroughly appreciate the Schroeder design-build concept and recommend it to all. I know very little about construction and did not enjoy previous projects acting as Project Manager with subcontractors to build out my kitchen and multiple bathrooms. Having a team of architects, engineers and management of their subcontractors made this a simple project for me. My only regret is that I didn’t do more of the options I was presented. I waited into my warranty period to submit this and there were a few issues with my build. As each item arose, the Schroeder team handled them as expeditiously as I could expect. Neighbors and friends are amazed by the overall results, and it is a great Master Suite to use every day.

We are currently navigating the design build process with Shroeder. Initially we had found our project specialist to be somewhat dismissive of our concerns over clarity on scope and cost. Overall, Shroeder could be more transparent about scope/cost, to better support its clients and help them make informed financial decisions. The clarity comes a little late in their process (by construction agreement phase). This is problematic because, if a client doesn’t know what was included or excluded in the original scope/estimate/allowance they are exposed to unnecessary financial risk (of being told later “that option will cost extra”). This puts clients in a bad place up until that point in the process. Our construction starts 2/16 and we’ve made selections, but Shroeder has not yet let us know

In 2017, we purchased a one-of-a-kind, stunning craftsman-style home with a contemporary flair. It has four bathrooms. We run a family-owned business as manufacturer representatives for plumbing and heating companies. When we bought the home, we knew we wanted to bring in many of our manufacturers' products to redo the bathrooms. We easily completed three of the bathrooms on our own, but the primary bedroom suite presented some interesting challenges. The existing closet was not big enough for two people. Both the primary bedroom and the bathroom featured beautiful wood ceilings. There were two entrances to the suite—one for the main bedroom and another for a very small room that could have been an office, exercise room, or sitting area, but we never knew what to do with it! Our project with Schroeder, estimated at 12-15 weeks, wound up taking more than a full year. It was an unnecessarily stressful, frustrating year, that their own employees referred to as “embarrassing” and “incompetent” at various points. The project was mainly focused on our kitchen, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a staircase, and a fireplace facade. After 15 weeks, all that had been completed was demolition and some rough-ins - for months, we lived in a demolished home with no kitchen, just waiting for updates (pic 1 below - our living room and “kitchen”). The big problem was that Schroeder failed to identify one of the only walls we were removing as load bearing. It took months for them to just come up with a plan to address it (we were told their engineer was on leave). When the plan was finall
