If you are considering Shields Movers and Staffers LLC, understand that this company canceled on me the morning of my move, showed up unprepared, damaged my furniture, and has not followed through on resolving the damage. One week before the move, I provided detailed descriptions and photos of every item. The night before the move — at 10:00 PM — I received a call “verifying” information they already had. During that same call, they attempted to change my confirmed 9:00 AM move to 11:00 PM. SCAMMERS AND LIARS! They showed up 3 hours late.They will damage your furniture and act like they didnt and offer Zero compensation or even an apology. They broker your job over to day laborers who have no experience and show up in filthy and greasy unmarked rented U-Haul trucks with men who look like they were partying all night before. Shields Candido (the owner) is rude and inconsiderate and his operation is super sketchy. They have zero problem solving skills and cant even use common tools correctly. They show up unprepared without items like screwdrivers, moving blankets, and furniture wrapping. Scheduled my 3 location move a month in advance, communication was fair but slow. I emailed and confirmed all 3 locations that i needed moved into 1 storage. Quote was good and I made sure the truck size. Moved today and the 2 guys Ahmad and his friend came. Scheduled for 9am, they arrived at 9:14. Arrived with a small truck. I immediately told them i have 3 locations with 2 being already filled with stuff to move. Get inside my home and they don’t have storage pads or packaging for my tv or long mirror. Easy to contact, easy to schedule, good price. Move scheduled at 2:30pm and confirmed no other jobs that day. Day of the job, movers say they now have another job 45min away at 2:00pm. Do the math. Didn't arrive until 5:40pm, which wasn't too bad since I was also late myself, but keep in mind Shields didn't have a problem double-booking. The movers were kind, cool, very hard workers, and fast, but rough around the edges: multiple cigarette breaks while handling upholstered furniture and mattresses with no gloves, sometimes running furniture into edges and ceilings, and responded with: "What is this, we haven't even started yet" when I tipped them $40 each for their help as soon as they arrived, even being 3 hours late.
