My home was built in 2021, and my flooring is trashed. There is no vapor barrier between the sub floor and the vinyl. Also the subfloor is all messed up. There are ridges and valleys. Removed a portion of a wall for some custom shelving. Framing was not properly spaced, far too many nails (minor). Less than one year after moving in the wall behind my refrigerator had to be torn out because of mold. The people that installed the cabinets screwed thru the drain pipe from the upstairs shower. I did contact them the first year of living here about the flooring. They sent out some guys they went in the crawl space. I assume they just shimmed between the subfloor and the joist. We had our house built in 2014 and love it so much that we haven’t even considered moving. Our families live 2 hours away and we still won’t move. If you are looking for a great builder for your next new home, look no more. Or, if you are looking for a lived-in home, do some research to find Singletary homes.

I'm a contractor and recently went to a customers house to inspect damage from them renting out an upstairs bedroom. Well, when I noticed the downstairs flooring needed to be replaced I asked how old the house was. They informed me it was built in 2021 and that Singletary built it. They were extremely upset with how this company did a lot of the work. Upon further inspection of the laminate flooring on the main level, I noticed that there was never a vapor barrier installed between the laminate and the concrete subfloor. Most, if not all, manufacturers of flooring provide a 25 year residential warranty. However, that warranty can only be honored if the flooring was installed properly. I can say, and am even willing to testify under oath, this company did not install this flooring properly.

I’ve purchased two homes from Singletary Construction in Summerfield subdivision and both times they have been absolutely AMAZING!! They are very responsive, timely, considerate, respectful and easy to communicate with. Meagan and Linda have been fantastic! They are fabulous people and build a very solid home. There are so many things that went wrong with buying a home with them. They wouldn’t fix things that were found during the inspection and told me the day before closing they wasn’t going to fix it and if I didn’t want the home they would gladly give me my earnest money back. During this time I had waited six months for my house to be built so at this time they knew they could sale at least 70k more than what I went under contract with. Also the housing market during this time was booming so it would’ve been hard to find a home in this short of a time. SMH, buy through a better company. You deserve to get what you pay for. The paint job was horrible and they wouldn’t fix it. I had to pay 6k for a paint company to come in before I moved in to fix it. I recommend you use your hard earned mone
