Smokey Mountain Cabinets

We had custom cabinets put into our home in St. Augustine when this company was owned by Mike in February 2014 to the tune of $18000.00. All went well until we started seeing cracks in some of the paint. We had Smokey Mountain back out and they decided it was the painting process and said they would refinish them at no charge. They took the doors back and refinished them, only to have them crack again in a couple of years. We keep doors closed and do not open windows, as we are on the beach. We keep the humidity of the house at 45-55% year round. We rented the house until 2021 and decided to wait until then to have the doors refinished by Smokey Mountain since we were no longer renting it. Jake, the new owner, was at first responsive. Our builder recommended Smokey Mountain Cabinets and we were very pleased. They worked with us to design custom closets, kitchens, and bars, including adding special lighting features to our kitchen and butlers pantry. The product has been superior. Jake and his staff followed up a few months later to make sure that the installation was good and that we were happy.

Smokey Mountain provided new semi-custom cabinets for our kitchen and two bathrooms in Sept 2024. They helped with the design, visiting numerous times to incorporate our wishes into the kitchen spaces and made helpful suggestions to maximize storage while dealing with some quirky angles and spaces. We also had them provide custom closets, again with conscientious attention to our wishes. We are very happy with everything. With big projects, there are always little issues and Smokey Mountain addressed all of them promptly. Just recently, there was one cabinet face (out of probably 40) that had a paint issue - it was picked up within a day, repainted and replaced within a week.

I'm not exactly sure why this place is even in business. So, we needed our kitchen cabinets replaced due to a flood. We called Smokey mountain and the initial contact was decent. They came out, took measurements, came back with a quote in reasonable time. The quote was actually a really good deal, so we decided to move forward with the project. We informed them we'd like to move forward with the project and we never heard back from anyone. How can you even run a business when someone wants to hire you and you don't ever respond back!? The communication at this company is absolutely terrible. I don't recommend using these people

My experience with Amber, Mike, Leigh and John, my installer have been wonderful to work with. They have all be very caring, responsive and very professional. My renovation of my kitchen was through a contractor, but my total experience with everyone I've had any contact with through Smokey Mountain has been really great. I would highly recommend them. My cabinets are beautiful. To begin with, working with Amber in designing my kitchen was so so sweet and listened to my every concern. John, who installed my cabinets has been the best throughout. He is extremely good at what he does!
